Job Description

 

Responsibilities

A member of Short Range Planning group, the Mining planner is responsible for the design and scheduling of mine projects, covering the 1 week to 1 year horizon. The focus of the position is on construction work and mine services in the areas of drainage, drilling and blasting, road design and construction, budgeting, site preparation for major earthwork projects in the mine, as well as management of various contracting groups. To achieve results, the Engineer works closely with production personnel to provide the right support and direction. The position also requires involvement in the other planning and continuous improvement activities of the group.

Minimum Requirement

The successful candidate will have a Mine Engineering degree with a minimum of 7 years related experience and eligible to become a member of APEGGA.
Open pit mining experience is preferred but not essential.
Candidates must be highly motivated self-starters comfortable working with various levels & departments within the organization.
Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
